Fenton's Reagent Kit (Ferrous Sulfate + Hydrogen Peroxide System)
The Fenton's Reagent Kit is a paired-component AOP (Advanced Oxidation Process) system consisting of ferrous sulfate heptahydrate (FeSO4·7H2O, CAS 7782-63-0) as the catalyst and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2, CAS 7722-84-1, 35% or 50%) as the oxidant. When combined at pH 2.5-3.5, the Fe²⁺/H2O2 reaction generates hydroxyl radicals (·OH) with an oxidation potential of 2.8 V, capable of degrading non-biodegradable COD, color, dyes, phenols, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and PFAS precursors in industrial wastewater. The kit is supplied with a dosing chart for the Fe:H2O2:COD ratio (typical 1:5-1:10 molar Fe:H2O2 with H2O2:COD weight ratio 1:1 to 2:1), pH adjustment guidance (H2SO4 to 2.5-3.5, NaOH neutralize to >7 post-reaction for Fe(OH)3 precipitation), and SOP for classical, modified (chelated-iron, near-neutral pH), photo-Fenton (UV-assisted), and electro-Fenton variants. Widely used in textile dyehouses, pharmaceutical wastewater, landfill leachate, electronics rinse water, and refinery sour water.
