Hydrogenated Styrene-Isoprene (HSD) Viscosity Index Improver
Hydrogenated styrene-diene (HSD) VI improvers are star-structured block copolymers offering superior oxidative stability, excellent low-temperature performance, and high thickening efficiency in a single additive. The hydrogenation step eliminates residual double bonds, greatly improving stability against oxidation and thermal degradation. HSD is the preferred VI improver for premium low-viscosity engine oils (0W-16, 0W-20) and modern transmission fluids that require extreme low-temperature cranking performance.
