Ortho-Toluidine (o-Toluidine)
Ortho-toluidine is an aromatic amine intermediate widely used in the synthesis of reactive dyes, especially turquoise and blue reactive dyes applied to cellulosic fibers. The methyl group at the ortho position imparts steric effects that influence coupling reactions and the resulting dye's fastness properties.
