Sulfurized Olefin Extreme Pressure Additive
Sulfurized olefins are reactive sulfur-containing extreme pressure (EP) additives produced by the reaction of olefins with elemental sulfur or sulfur chlorides. They form iron sulfide protective films at asperity contact points under high-load gear and bearing contacts, preventing scuffing and welding. Available in active and inactive sulfur variants, they are core components in GL-4/GL-5 gear oils and heavy-duty industrial lubricants.
