1-Hydroxyethylidene-1,1-Diphosphonic Acid (HEDP)
HEDP is a highly effective organophosphonic acid scale and corrosion inhibitor used in industrial cooling water, boiler water, and oilfield water treatment. It inhibits calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, and zinc scale through threshold inhibition and crystal modification. HEDP is stable in oxidizing environments and demonstrates strong chelation of metal ions including iron and copper.
