Glycerol Monooleate (GMO) Friction Modifier

Glycerol monooleate (GMO) is a cost-effective, ashless friction modifier derived from oleic acid and glycerol, widely used in automotive and industrial lubricants to reduce stick-slip behavior and improve fuel efficiency. Its polar head group adsorbs strongly onto metal surfaces, forming a boundary-lubrication film that reduces the coefficient of friction in low-speed, high-load contacts. GMO is fully biodegradable and compatible with both mineral and synthetic base oils.
