Reverse Osmosis Antiscalant
Reverse osmosis antiscalants are specialty chemical formulations dosed into RO system feed water to prevent mineral scaling on membrane surfaces. They inhibit the crystallization and precipitation of sparingly soluble salts including calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, barium sulfate, strontium sulfate, and silica. Proper antiscalant dosing maximizes recovery, extends membrane life, and reduces cleaning frequency.
